The name 100 Monkeys was inspired by the the story, “The Hundredth Monkey” by Ken Keyes Jr.
Have you ever purchased “natural deodorant” only to use it and find out on the first day that it doesn’t work and that you actually stink? ME TOO! You can imagine how excited I was when I discovered that in five minutes or less, I could make my own natural deodorant using ingredients that I already had in my cupboard.
There’s nothing like cracking open a bottle of your own homebrew and feeling the satisfaction that comes with knowing you did it all by yourself.
The DIY (Do It Yourself) method is something that was sorely missing from my life until I decided to start asking some questions. I was living like some sort of robot, buying and consuming but it was only when I started questioning the contents of my products that I realized I might just be better off making my own. It turns out I was right! I find great satisfaction in using natural ingredients to make household products and I love all the savings that come with doing it yourself. This laundry soap was one of the first things I made on my own and I haven't looked back.
Recently my husband and I decided it was time to cut out sugar just for one week to see if we could do it. The good news - we can do it! Now that Christmas is over, we are committed to reducing sugar and we found a lot of great alternatives that are sugar-free but still able to satisfy the sweet tooth.
Last year people across Ontario had the pleasure of meeting and working with a wonderful traditional healer and teacher from Zimbabwe as he toured the province sharing his wisdom and gifts. We are pleased to announce that Mandaza Kandemwa is returning to Canada again this June.
